Davis County Commission approves budget measures, contracts, appointments and donations

Budget and staffing: Commissioner Bob Stevenson told the commission the county remained about $6,000,000 short of where it needs to be to balance ongoing obligations and proposed offering an early-retirement incentive as a cost-saving measure. He moved that Commissioner Croft, as chair, be authorized to sign the letters implementing the incentive; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
Land and appointments: Kent Anderson presented item 3, a request to issue a temporary access license to Bountiful City for tax ID 040690135 (Mill Creek Basin) from April 10, 2026, through May 9, 2026, to permit a local cleanup event.
