At its Oct. 20 meeting the El Monte City School District Board of Education approved a series of routine and personnel items by unanimous vote.
The board approved minutes (09/29/2025 and 09/15/2025) and accepted a quarterly Williams uniform complaint report showing zero complaints for July 1–Sept. 30.
Consent and action votes included:
- A motion to approve the consent calendar (except item 12) carried 5–0. - Item 12 (consideration of classified CSEA chapter personnel) was pulled for separate consideration and the board approved a recommendation to promote Eddie Monjares to Maintenance Operations Manager; the vote carried 5–0. Monjares thanked the board and family for the promotion. - The board adopted resolutions recognizing Native American Heritage Month (resolution 2052611) and Veterans Day (resolution 252612); both motions carried 5–0. - The annual and 5‑year developer fee report was presented and approved. Staff described residential developer fees of about $3 per square foot (for development over 500 sq ft), commercial industrial fees of approximately $0.54 per square foot, and an accumulated developer fee account balance of roughly $5,000,000; the board approved the report 5–0. - A package of 18 board policy second readings was approved as a unit, 5–0.
Why it matters: The developer fee report is required under state law to ensure compliance and proper use of funds for facilities; staff noted prior local examples in which failure to comply led to large repayments to developers.
The board adjourned at 7:14 p.m.
