The Altoona City Council on Dec. 15 approved plans and awarded a contract for the Adventureland Drive Water Transmission Main Project, a water main installation at the east end of Adventureland Drive intended to serve a new water treatment plant site.
City Administrator Randy Pierce reported the city received ten bids for the project. Staff identified Wynn Company LLC as the lowest responsive bidder at $235,758.00. The council approved a sequence of resolutions to accept plans and specifications, approve the contract and bond, and make the contract award. Councilmember Boka moved the award subject to legal review; the roll call votes recorded for the related resolutions were unanimous (5-0).
The project will install a new water transmission main to serve the planned water treatment facility; the contract award and bond approval allow staff to proceed with contracting and construction administration, subject to legal review and final contract execution.
