During its Feb. 16 meeting the City Council approved a consent agenda containing multiple construction pay applications and change orders, acceptance of public improvements, grant applications, and a bond authorization.
Notable items on the consent agenda included Pay App #9 to DCI Group, Inc. for Altoona Fire Station No. 26 in the amount of $1,464,288.76; Pay App #9 to The Hansen Company, Inc. for the Altoona Public Works Facility in the amount of $2,548,203.33; Change Order #002 to DCI Group, Inc. for $3,472.33; Jasper Construction pay and change items for Townsend Park watershed improvements (change order $18,800 and Pay App #2 $35,270.65); Pay App #6 to OPUS for Sam Wise Youth Complex of $13,803.92; and a resolution authorizing issuance of $25,860,000 General Obligation Urban Renewal Refunding Bonds, Series 2026A.
The council also authorized applications for Prairie Meadows and Polk County Community Betterment grants to fund projects including lighting for the Olde Town Water Tower and a statue for the Civic Plaza, accepted multiple completed public improvements for street and park projects, and approved procurement and project steps for sanitary sewer and water system improvements. All consent items were approved by roll call vote, recorded as 4–0 among members present.
