Following closed-session briefings, Trustee Gonzalez Mars reported on three student-discipline matters and recommended expulsions. The board moved and voted on each case in open session: Trustee Reiser made each motion and Trustee Martin seconded; roll-call votes carried in each instance.
The board also considered two human-resources resolutions. Assistant Superintendent Dana Page, who had previewed the item, described the annual process to release temporary certificated employees as “challenging” for staff whose assignments conclude at year-end. Trustee Reiser moved to approve Resolution K4A (release of temporary certificated employees) and the board adopted the resolution by roll call.
The board then approved Resolution K4B concerning classified reductions or discontinuance of particular kinds of service; that motion also passed by roll call. Trustees used the discussion period to thank temporary and classified employees for their service and to note the anxiety associated with staffing changes.
No public comments were received on these agenda items. The motions and roll-call tallies were made on the record in open session.
