Zamora said the group sent a December 2024 letter to Doug Trower expressing interest, described the explorer program’s role in preparing students for careers in public safety, and said the group is part of a joint-powers agreement with four other fire agencies. He noted that public-entity land transfers can be subject to the Naylor Act and that some procedural steps are required.
The board thanked Zamora for his interest and accepted handouts he offered. No board action on the property was taken at the meeting; the chair directed Zamora to contact a district staff member (Pasaga) for next steps.
