RJUHSD board amends expulsion order, approves dismissal, settlement and veterans resolution

The Roseville Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday reported multiple closed-session actions and unanimously approved a veterans recognition resolution.
After returning from closed session the board announced it had dismissed a probationary classified employee (item 2.1) and approved a settlement agreement (item 2.2). The board then considered case 04-2526; Trustee (functional label) moved to amend the expulsion order for that case and the board voted 5–0 to adopt the amendment, mirroring the roll-call results for items 2.1 and 2.2.
The board then considered Resolution 25-19 recognizing the importance of military service and honoring veterans who work for the district. Mel, a district staff member who has led Purple Star School outreach, explained efforts to pursue the Purple Star designation and the supports the district is compiling for military families. “Purple Star Schools is a designation awarded by the state that recognizes individual schools and school districts that provide a high level of service to military families,” Mel said. Mel added that four schools—Woodcreek, Antelope, Roseville and Adelante—are preparing applications.
Trustees spoke in support. One trustee said the resolution was particularly personal and referenced family service and recent losses among service members. After discussion the board moved and seconded the resolution; a roll-call vote recorded unanimous approval (5–0) with student board members also recorded as voting in favor.
Procedural notes: the consent agenda also passed earlier in the meeting by roll call (5–0, with two student board members recorded as yes). The board adjourned after completing the regular agenda.
What happens next: the expulsion-order amendment and personnel and settlement actions will be carried out according to district procedures; staff indicated the district will continue outreach related to Purple Star applications at the school level.
