Parent asks Rockland Unified to advocate on CIF eligibility for transferred student

Hone said her son, Zion, transferred in January and agreed to move down to junior varsity to comply with CIF transfer rules, but on Aug. 22 was told he was under review and therefore ineligible to play. She asked the district to press CIF leadership to resolve the review so affected students could return to play if eligible; Hone said the CIF has 20 business days to reach a decision and that the district’s advocacy could hasten the process.
Superintendent Stock offered to speak with Hone after the meeting and directed Marty Flowers to follow up.
