The Oak Grove School District board on Feb. 12 approved a license agreement with Cry Out Christian Fellowship for continued use of the Santa Teresa Elementary multipurpose room, two portable classrooms and storage containers through June 30, 2027, with a license fee described in meeting materials as $2,800 for the term.
Associate Superintendent Mark Evans explained the license provides steady scheduling and some rental revenue that is set aside for capital expenses. A trustee disclosed a conflict of interest because they attend the church and recused themselves from voting. Trustees asked about contractual language requiring the licensee to clear materials from the multipurpose room after use, storage container placement, and insurance and indemnity requirements. Evans confirmed those items are addressed in the license: the licensee must clear the space, custodial charges can be billed if additional cleaning is required, and the licensee must carry insurance and indemnity terms.
During the roll call the board recorded one abstention and otherwise approved the license.
Implementation notes: The district will monitor site compliance, custodial usage and emergency access arrangements for stored containers; insurance and indemnity language will remain part of the executed agreement.
