District facilities staff told trustees a tour of the Norris Elementary building wing finds the project roughly one-third complete and progressing "relatively smoothly," with a few rain-day delays that staff expect to recover from. The report said requests for information (RFIs) on the project have been minimal and reaffirmed a target completion in July.
Staff also reported recent negotiations with homebuilder Lennar regarding adjacent land and said they are "very close" to an agreement and hope to finish negotiations in the near term. Trustees discussed scheduling a site walkthrough and were told the district can supply hard hats for board members or members may bring their own if available.
The board voted on separate facility-related actions later in the meeting, including approving a resolution to maintain eligibility for state facility modernization grants and authorizing the superintendent to award a low bid for HVAC work at multiple sites to accelerate installations without calling a special meeting.
Trustees were invited to tour the Norris Elementary site when convenient; staff offered to coordinate arrangements.
