The development manager said the charts show trends over 13 years and a more focused seven-year view for recent activity. "The quarterly updates for single family homes in the last 2 months, for 2026, we had 290 new permits," the development manager said, adding that manufactured-home permits were "82" in the same recent period and that the county is seeing an increase in that category.
Staff noted historical annual averages for single-family permits have been about 1,300–1,400 homes and that 2024–25 had higher totals than prior years. The presentation included pipeline-lot updates, recent appearance-review approvals (including Avanti townhomes resubmitted after the 90-day resubmittal period) and references to a concurrency review and update staff is preparing for council consideration.
The report also highlighted the county's transportation improvement plan outreach and how that work will dovetail with planning considerations, including potential requirements for turn lanes, traffic-control devices and access management standards to inform future development reviews.
