District staff outline enrollment trends and open registration Dec. 3 for 2026–27

District enrollment staff presented historical and current enrollment tables, class-size averages and cohort tracking to help trustees plan staffing and facilities for 2026–27. The presentation noted kindergarten as the district’s largest grade (261 students) and reviewed targets tied to the facilities master plan.
Staff corrected an earlier slide error and outlined the registration timeline: online registration opens Dec. 3 (the Wednesday after Thanksgiving) and runs through Jan. 30; TK and kindergarten registration information nights are set for Dec. 2 at Strawberry Point (TK: 5:00–5:45 p.m.; K: 6:00–6:45 p.m.). Currently enrolled students will be automatically re-registered; siblings and new students must complete online registration. The district will accept intra-district transfer requests during registration and will post information via ParentSquare and principals’ newsletters.
Trustees and staff discussed class-size trends, cohort fluctuations and planning scenarios for staffing and site capacities. Staff said they will use registration figures to inform first-interim budget staffing assumptions and any necessary reconfiguration of classroom assignments.
