Residents raise tree removal, sidewalk and transit access concerns at Roswell open forum

Renee Zweigle said crews working for a utility or contractor stripped a large number of trees along Holcomb Bridge Road near Martin’s Landing, bulldozing what she described as “50 years of trees,” and asked the city to inspect the work, confirm permissions reportedly granted by an HOA, and consider planting a barrier or other mitigation. She said staff representatives (named in public remarks) had been helpful but that no design or plan for a sidewalk had been finalized.
Janet Russell reported that MARTA’s Route 85 will add stops at Kroger and Aldi in mid-April, providing more connectivity from the North Springs station to neighborhood shopping, and framed the change as positive for transit riders.
Speakers asked staff to post design plans, right-of-way permissions and contact information on roswell.gov so residents can track planned sidewalk work and tree-replacement or mitigation measures.
