LEXINGTON COUNTY — Lexington County Council took several administrative and funding actions at its July 29 session before opening evening public hearings on three zoning ordinances.
The council approved second reading of Ordinance 25-13, which implements new residential solid-waste franchise contracts for franchise areas 2, 3, 6 and 7. Solid-waste staff said Area 2 will be served by Tyler’s Sanitation (now New South Waste), Area 3 by Waste Management, and Areas 6 and 7 by Capital Waste; the new contracts are scheduled to begin Oct. 1. Councilman Hudson made the motion to approve the ordinance and Councilman Brigham seconded; the motion carried by voice vote.
