St. Lawrence County opens bids for Route 22 and Route 34 bridge replacements

St. Lawrence County opened bids under bid number 202606 for replacement of County Route 22 over Sawyer Creek and County Route 34 over Trout Brook, County Principal Fiscal Officer Stephanie Kerr said at the bid opening.

Kerr read two bids and confirmed required paperwork, including addendums, a non-collusion statement and bid bonds were submitted. "Today, we're opening up bid number 202606, replacement of County Route 22 over Sawyer Creek and replacement of County Route 34 over Trout Brook," she said.

The first bid, from Sheehan, included addendums and the required bid bond. Kerr clarified the Sheehan submission listed $1,790,000 for the Route 22 work over Sawyer Creek and $1,435,000 for the Route 34 work over Trout Brook. Kerr also noted the presence of the non-collusion certificate and bid bond for that submission.

A second bid, from Tuscarora, likewise included addendums and the non-collusion statement. The transcript records a grand total of $1,605,004.95 for Tuscarora, but several line-item figures for that bid are unclear or appear garbled in the recorded audio. The county recorded the totals as read at the opening; the transcript does not show any award or evaluation decision at the session.

Kerr closed the bid opening after recording the two submissions. "And that's 2 bids for today," she said.

The record in the bid-opening log will be used by county staff to proceed with whatever next steps the county requires; no award or contract action was announced during the bid-opening session.
