The board voted by roll call to approve the resolution.
The board also reviewed and approved the district's unaudited actuals for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. Deputy Superintendent for Business and Operations Jennifer Stahlheber said unrestricted revenues improved by about $879,000 compared with estimated actuals, driven by LCFF adjustments, updated Education Protection Account receipts and higher interest earnings; staff also noted a $139,000 PG&E rebate recovery and timing differences in restricted bus grants. The presentation flagged rising utility costs (more than a 74% increase since 2021 in the district’s utility spend) and the budget risks of flat or declining enrollment in coming years. After discussion the board voted to approve the unaudited financial statements by roll call.
On a separate personnel/community recognition item, the board approved a motion to name the Spring View Middle School gymnasium in honor of longtime Spring View principal Marge Crawford after Superintendent Roger Stock reported the request complied with board policy 7310 and staff and community speakers testified in support.
What happens next: the board will continue budget work with a first interim report due in December; the safety committee and other standing committees will consider related operational matters as they arise.
