The Travis Unified School District Board of Trustees reported two personnel actions from closed session during its Aug. 12, 2025 meeting.
President Matt Badu told the public the board approved a reinstatement in a student matter identified in district records as 01‑25‑26. "In closed session by a vote of 4 2 0, the governing board of Travis Unified School District approve reinstatement in student matter 01‑25‑26," Badu said during the open meeting report‑out. The transcript does not record an on‑the‑record roll call of individual member votes for that item beyond the tabulated tally.
The board also announced an appointment. "In closed session by a vote of 4 to 0, the governing board of the Travis Unified School District appointed Adam Martinez to serve as director of student auxiliary beginning July 1, 2025," Badu said. The motion to appoint was recorded as made by board member De Prato and seconded by board member Waite.
Board members did not debate the report‑out items in public after the announcements. Both actions were described by the president as having been completed in closed session and summarized for the public on the record. The district will submit formal personnel paperwork and will post any required public notices consistent with customary board practice.
The board continued with recognitions and routine business after the announcements.
