Procedural votes The board approved the meeting agenda at the start of the session (voice vote, motion carried 5‑0) and later set the district’s annual organizational meeting for Dec. 16, 2025 at 5 p.m. (motion carried 5‑0).
Personnel and compensation Trustees approved the personnel report and a revised substitute salary schedule (to reflect the minimum‑wage increase); both items passed unanimously.
Contracts and facilities The board voted 5‑0 to award a $1,870,000 contract to Venture Construction and Management for the Murrieta Valley High School pool modernization project.
Separately, the board approved a deductive change order to contract C0001273 for food‑services infrastructure; that motion also carried 5‑0. The associate student body financial reports for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2025 were received for review.
Energy policy tabled Trustees discussed a proposed item that would limit or regulate personal electrical appliances in classrooms (mini‑fridges, individual printers, etc.) as a district energy‑conservation measure. Board members and administrators cited rising energy costs and the need to evaluate siteby‑site circumstances. After discussion the board moved to table the item for further input from teachers and site administrators; motion carried 5‑0 and the item will return in December.
Minutes amendment During consent calendar discussion trustees pulled the Sept. 17 minutes for amendment to clarify a public‑comment exchange. The board made a motion to amend that portion of the minutes, the motion was seconded and carried.
What’s next Board members asked staff to return with additional detail on energy‑conservation guidelines, facilities‑master‑plan implications and outreach to teachers and classified staff before taking further action.
