Administration explained the 2025–26 calendar amendment aligns the district’s calendar with state authorization and allows two snow-day options before the scheduled last day; the amendment prevents the district from having to extend the school year past Memorial Day. A motion to approve the amended 2025–26 calendar passed on a roll-call vote.
The board also reviewed and approved the 2026–27 calendar and the proposed board meeting dates (most meetings tentatively scheduled at the high school auditorium). The proposed 2026–27 calendar lists parent‑teacher conference evenings (Oct. 19 and 21) and a full teacher institute day after winter break; graduation date was included though a start time was not on the printed calendar.
As part of routine business, the board approved updated district office job descriptions (Special Ed director/secretary, district secretary, HR and operations director). Administration said the job descriptions were reviewed with the district attorney and that evaluations will be aligned with the updated descriptions at a later date.
The board also approved two mid‑year graduates who had been omitted from a previous list; administration said the students had already completed requirements and the approval was a technical correction.
During the first reading of PRESS policy updates (policy 120 and several others), the board flagged three policies for closer review: policy 480 (accounting and audits), 660 (curriculum content), and 7150 (agency and law‑enforcement requests). The first reading was approved to proceed and the board will review the flagged items in more detail.
