Contractor says high school renovation near completion; auditorium open house set for March 24–26

Ryan, who identified himself as a project director and said he was with Patrick Construction, told the board that “phase one, we're getting real close to wrapping it up” and that crews completed a punch list of classroom and auditorium items. He said the district’s play is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, and staff are preparing rigging and lighting for the performance.
The contractor described phase-two progress as including a poured gym floor and roof work. He said phase three is scheduled to begin in April during spring break and will include asbestos removal while students are out of the building. “There will be some asbestos work happening for removal while kids are out of school,” he said.
A district staff member added dates and community access details: an open house is planned Tuesday, March 24, “so we can have the community come in and see everything prior to the show,” and partial occupancy rules are in effect for after-hours visits.
Board members and administrators discussed logistics for moving choir and band spaces into the renovated areas, noting the choir room is expected to move after spring break and other moves may follow for next school year. Staff also described ongoing punch-list work, the need to train staff on new systems, and finishing touches such as exterior painting on portions of the old building to better match the new addition.
The presentation gave the board a timeline for community viewing and confirmed the district’s plan to complete major work before the next academic year.
