Winslow Township school board adjourns into executive session to discuss employment matters

The Winslow Township School District Board of Education voted on Thursday, March 19, 2026, to adjourn its public meeting and enter an executive session to discuss employment matters, the chair said.

The decision followed routine opening business at the special meeting. The chair told the board that “public notice of this meeting was given to all board members and associates in the notice dated 03/12/2026” and listed locations where the notice had been posted, including district schools, the administration office, the municipal building, the library, the Bud Dubel Center, Edgewood Acres, Allentown and the Winslow Township Post Office.

The board opened a public-comment period after a motion and second, but the chair announced that no members of the public had signed up to speak. After adjourning public comments, the board turned to a motion to enter executive session.

A motion to move into executive session was made and seconded; the board completed a roll call and the motion carried. The board recorded eight affirmative responses; one member, Mister Thomas, was absent and excused, according to the roll call. A board speaker said the executive session had been advertised in advance under the Open Public Meetings Act and that the subject fell under the act’s listed exception for employment matters (exception number 8). The board estimated the closed session would last about 30 to 45 minutes.

The chair then directed members to adjourn to the conference room for the executive session with executive staff. The public meeting room was cleared and the board proceeded into closed session.

The board did not take further public action before adjourning into executive session and provided no additional details about the personnel matters to be discussed.
