Superintendent reports frozen pipes fixed, highlights alumni panel and upcoming audit

The superintendent thanked the director of buildings and grounds and district HVAC technicians for working through the New Year holiday to restore heat after frozen pipes in the sixth-grade wing at Frelenghuysen Middle School. "They worked entirely through the New Year holiday, and we all had a sigh of relief when they restored heat to the entire sixth grade wing," the superintendent said.
The superintendent also highlighted a new "young alumni" panel at the high school, intended to connect current students with recent graduates about college and career pathways. Finally, the superintendent reminded the board that the district will receive its annual audit report at the next meeting, scheduled for Jan. 12.
The items the superintendent described are informational; the meeting did not include separate motions or votes tied to the facilities work. The administration said any emergency repairs made between meetings will be presented for ratification at the next business meeting, per the business-administrator authorization approved earlier in the reorganization slate.
