The Morris School District Board of Education approved a slate of consent motions across committee reports, covering curriculum, pupil services, human resources and business matters.
Curriculum committee approvals included the Morristown High School program of studies for 2026–27, two field trips (MHS drill team and chorus), and the district's required three‑year preschool operational plan in accordance with NJAC requirements. "Thank you to Sofia Kenny, director of guidance, for presenting the program to us and highlighting all the new updates," the curriculum chair said during the report.
The finance report noted a clean audit submitted on time with no findings and a recommended award of bus financing to Webster Bank at an interest rate of 3.42%. "We received our audit and management report on time. There were no findings," Finance chair reported. The board also authorized awards for bus and vehicle repair services and rejected two bidders that failed to submit bonding documentation.
During roll calls, most motions were approved unanimously by members present. Noted abstentions included one abstention by Missus Gold on the pupil services item and an abstention by Missus Cole on business matter number 9; all other motions in those group votes carried.
The board moved on to new business after the consent items and adjourned later in the evening.
