Board honors departing members Carrie and Susan Petalino

The Morris School District Board of Education took time near the start of its meeting to recognize two departing members.
Chair remarks introduced a tribute to Carrie, noting her engineering background, community leadership and more than 25 years of local service including coaching and participation in Morristown civic boards. Carrie told the board, "It's been an honor to be a a part of all this," and encouraged new members to keep asking tough questions that improve district governance.
The board also honored Susan Petalino for service since January 2020 and for her work as curriculum committee chair. Board members praised her background as an educator and library media specialist and thanked her for steady leadership: "Your poise, grace, and quiet leadership are truly what I aspire to," one member said. Petalino thanked colleagues and family, noting, "It has truly been an honor of a lifetime to serve on the Morris School District Board of Education."
Board members closed the recognition with group thanks and arranged a photo of departing members and colleagues.
