The Stafford Township School District Board of Education recognized McKinley Avenue staff and a group of fourth‑grade students for outstanding service and character at its public meeting.
Dr. Aldisio, vice principal at McKinley Avenue, told the board the staff are “unsung heroes” who provide intervention and support and often volunteer their own time to help students. She introduced staff members receiving recognition and thanked them “for everything that you do for everybody at McKinley.”
Superintendent Chidiak highlighted several student and staff achievements. He said Viva Wang was the first student in the district’s history to be selected to the South Jersey Band of Directors ensemble on violin; the board noted she will audition for All‑State in March. The superintendent also summarized January school events across the district, including performances, STEAM nights, a community service cereal drive with St. Francis Food Pantry, and a winter concert that involved more than 200 fourth graders.
The board also recognized a $2,000 award secured by Rich Meyer from the NJEA for outdoor seating at PLC. The superintendent described the grant as supporting outdoor seating for school community use.
The recognition portion concluded with applause and brief remarks of appreciation from district leaders. The meeting then moved on to routine business and votes.
