Bordentown Regional School District elects Richard Schneisky president, Laura Papp vice president

At its reorganization meeting, the Bordentown Regional School District Board of Education elected Richard Schneisky as board president and Laura Papp as vice president by voice/roll-call votes and approved routine consent items and personnel placements.

The meeting opened with the legally required notice under the New Jersey open public meetings law and a roll call; the moderator read local election results before the board took nominations for officer positions. A board member nominated Richard Schneisky for president; after a request for a second, the board voted and confirmed Schneisky’s election. Later, Laura Papp was nominated and confirmed as vice president.

The superintendent’s brief report thanked administrators, principals, teachers and students for recent work and announced a letter with three upcoming public meeting dates to invite community engagement. The board also approved the consent agenda and moved several recurring items forward without change.

During the meeting the board addressed personnel items, including approval of student-teacher placements. A board member asked whether two student teachers listed for overlapping dates would be assigned to the same classroom; staff clarified they teach different subjects under the mentorship of Jennifer McCann, and the board approved the placements.

The board chair said the district will circulate committee assignments by email and members will finalize committee appointments at the next meeting. The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn carried.

Quoted from the meeting: “I would like to nominate Richard Schneisky for the president position,” the moderator said during nominations. The newly elected officers thanked the board for the vote.

The next regular meeting was scheduled two weeks later, when the board plans to finalize committee assignments.
