The Wayne Township Public School District Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting Jan. 8, where the board swore in two newly elected members and one returning member and elected officers for the coming year.
Joseph Agnes, Keith Heyman and Barbara Rigoloso took the statutory oath of office before the board. The oath included references on the record to state voting and qualification statutes read during the ceremony. Judge Romana administered the oath to Rigoloso; the mayor was in attendance for Heyman’s swearing.
Following roll call, Barbara Rigoloso nominated Don Pavlak for president of the board; the nomination was seconded and confirmed by roll-call vote with all members present voting in the affirmative and the motion carrying. The board then nominated and confirmed Barbara Rigoloso as vice president in a separate roll-call vote.
Board members exchanged brief congratulatory remarks before moving on to the rest of the agenda. The newly elected president said he was honored by the board’s confidence and outlined a cooperative tone for the year ahead.
The meeting record shows the officer elections were completed by roll-call votes with no recorded opposition. No amendments to those officer motions were offered during the votes.
