North Brunswick board unanimously awards construction-management contract to Bancroft Construction Company

The North Brunswick Township Board of Education on March 4 unanimously approved a contract awarding construction management services for referendum projects to Bancroft Construction Company.

Board member Mr. Carter moved the award, stating the board had received and reviewed proposals from three construction-management firms in response to its request for proposals (proposal dated Jan. 23, 2026), and cited statutory procurement guidance (NJSA 18A-5a2 and Local Finance Notice AU 2002-2) during his motion. The motion was seconded and carried on a recorded roll-call vote with all members voting yes.

The board did not provide a dollar figure in the public motion. The motion as read into the record instructs that the contract be awarded pursuant to the Bancroft proposal on file with the school business administrator.

The vote followed a closed-session discussion earlier in the meeting that the board described as covering financial and negotiation matters; the board said those topics will be made public when nondisclosure is no longer required. The board returned to open session and then took the formal vote to award the contract.

What happens next: the district will file the contract documentation in the business administrator’s office, and the board’s action authorizes district staff to proceed with contracting under the terms of the accepted proposal. The district’s administration did not provide an implementation timetable or a contract start date during the public session.
