Following the awards recess, the Granite Falls School Board returned to routine business and approved two formal items by voice vote.
The board adopted three goals intended to guide district priorities: (1) student outcomes and instructional quality, (2) safe, secure and sustainable learning environments, and (3) governance effectiveness and community trust. Director Ladoux moved to approve the goals and Director Penagos seconded; the board approved the adoption by voice vote.
The board also considered and approved a contract with Millig, a consultant the district has worked with over the past 18 months, to complete facility assessments and begin projects tied to the district’s recently passed capital levy. Board discussion emphasized Millig’s prior assessments and the contract’s focus on improving HVAC, lighting and utility efficiency under the levy program. After a motion to approve, the contract was approved by voice vote.
With no objections, the consent agenda passed by unanimous consent and Director Ladoux adjourned the meeting at about 7:31 p.m.
