Wayne Board of Education records personnel changes, recognizes retirees and flags maintenance plan on Nov. 13 agenda

Miss Tibbets told the board that “as a result of the closed session… there were four changes to the resolution number 15,” and read staff identifiers and their outcomes: “ID number 7105 is a resignation. ID 9180 is a termination. ID 31331 was taken off, and ID 9371 was also a termination,” (publicly read from the agenda by Miss Tibbets).
The board also formally recognized multiple longtime employees who are retiring. A board member described Margaret Ademow’s career, noting she began in September 2009 as a substitute paraprofessional and served across schools before retiring from Ryerson Elementary School. The board highlighted Anna Giuliano’s service as a lunch aide and classroom aide, Deborah Giambattista’s decade of service in the technology department, and Mary Aaliyah’s 13 years as a paraprofessional at Wayne Valley High School.
Superintendent Mr. Citadino described district outreach to families who could be affected by a possible federal shutdown and related SNAP disruptions, saying staff put resource information on the district website and arranged local food-bank supports. He also previewed a winter camp to assist families needing childcare during the holiday break.
Board member Mr. Psakos praised the students honored earlier and drew attention to the comprehensive maintenance plan listed on the day’s agenda (item O.4), noting that while maintenance is included in the budget, “we need to budget more” and said a referendum may be necessary to secure additional funds.
The meeting proceeded with committee reports and an agenda approval via roll call vote, and the board adjourned after concluding public comment and member remarks.
