Board adopts program-compliance policy, approves DA Davidson engagement letter and passes consent agenda

The Granite Falls School Board on Feb. 25 moved and approved several procedural items: adoption of Policy 2106 (program compliance) on its second reading, approval of a nonbinding engagement letter with financial advisor D.A. Davidson to solicit rates and financing options, and passage of the consent agenda by unanimous consent.

Chair (S1) opened the discussion on Policy 2106, noting there were no changes after the first reading. "I'd like to make a motion that we accept the second reading to adopt policy 21 0 6 program compliance," the chair said, and a director seconded. The motion was called, and the chair took a voice vote; there was no recorded opposition.

Later in the meeting, staff presented an engagement memo for D.A. Davidson outlining a nonbinding engagement to help the district explore financing options. Dr. Giesland described the firm’s role as an advisor to gather rates and options, not as a binding contract. The board moved and seconded approval of the engagement letter and approved it on a voice vote.

The consent agenda, which contained routine administrative items, was presented with no changes and passed by unanimous consent. The chair adjourned the meeting at 6:37 p.m.
