"As a measure of precaution, Elizabeth Public Schools will be pausing its remaining photography sessions with Lifetouch for the 2025–26 school year," Carvalho said, adding that central administration would work with schools that have not yet taken pictures to find alternatives and would review sessions already completed to determine whether concerns are valid.
Carvalho pointed to student safety and the well-being of team members as the rationale for the pause and said central administration would gather more information to guide next steps.
The district did not announce a specific replacement vendor or timetable during the meeting; Carvalho said schools and families would be updated as alternatives and additional information are identified.
