Allendale proclaims March safety ranking, council commends police

The Borough of Allendale on March 26 celebrated a national report that ranked the borough among the top-10 safest municipalities in the U.S. Mayor Amy Wilsinski read a proclamation citing the report and praised the Allendale Police Department and Chief Mike Dillon for professional service and community engagement.
Councilman Tyler Yaccarino and others offered personal remarks acknowledging officers’ ties to the community. The mayor said the recognition reflected resident engagement and volunteerism as well as police leadership, and noted a joint legislative resolution from state lawmakers would honor the borough’s achievement.
Chief Mike Dillon thanked the mayor and council and described the department’s community-focused approach. The mayor and council expressed appreciation and presented the proclamation; residents and council members applauded. The meeting then proceeded to other business.
