Resident cautions Aztec commission about courting data-center projects

She said current technology is likely to be upgraded in three to four years and warned that entering agreements with large private‑equity owners now could lock the city into infrastructure that becomes obsolete or harmful to local priorities.
Gomez asked the commission to handle data‑center proposals "delicately" and to ensure that any future agreements fully account for long-term community impacts. Commissioners acknowledged the comment and did not take action at the meeting; the concern was recorded as part of the public‑comment record.
