Oswego board confirms student commissioners, recognizes local business and approves consent items and bill list

Trustees moved and unanimously approved appointments of student representatives: Annalise Schmidt and Wesley Miller to the Cultural Arts Commission; Brady Travis and Kishan Benalla to the Economic Development Commission; and Noah Denzer and Ruben Garcia to the Historic Preservation Commission for the 2025–26 school year. Chair asked the new appointees to come forward for photos and brief introductions.
The Economic Development Commission’s business-of-the-month recognition honored Hometown Insurance Services, led by Tim Leverich, for longstanding community involvement. The board also issued proclamations designating September 2025 as National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and recognizing National Payroll Week in the village.
On the consent agenda, the board approved items G1–G9 as read. Notable items included a resolution authorizing amendment number 1 to a joint funding agreement for federally funded construction with the State of Illinois and the appropriation of $392,837 for replacement of the Minkler Road bridge at Morgan Creek (job and project numbers were read into the record). The consent agenda motion passed by roll-call vote.
The board also approved the bill list dated Aug. 19, 2025, in the amount of $862,786.20. The chair conducted routine trustee reports, congratulated student commissioners and community groups, and the board adjourned after a roll-call vote on the motion to adjourn.
