The Oswego Planning and Zoning Commission on March 12 voted to recommend approval of a special use permit for a motor vehicle rental business at 4100 Route 71.
Petitioner materials identified the applicant as Vaco Motorsports LLC, doing business as The Motor House. The roughly 0.98-acre site on the east side of Route 71, about 400 feet south of the U.S. Route 34 and Wolf's Crossing intersection, contains a roughly 7,000-square-foot commercial building and a 3,000-square-foot garage. The applicant proposed to offer standard sedans for rental and to store a maximum of three rental vehicles on site.
Staff reviewed the request and concluded the proposed supplementary service is consistent with the comprehensive plan and compatible with the property's existing commercial use; staff recommended that the commission accept the findings of fact and recommend approval subject to general conformance with the submitted site plan. No members of the public spoke during the hearing.
After the public hearing closed, commissioners voted to accept staff's findings and recommend the special use permit to the village board. The recommendation includes the condition that the operation conform to the site plan submitted with the application.
