Zoning board approves enclosed foyer at 45 Roosevelt Boulevard in Sayreville
Summary
The Sayreville Zoning Board approved Application 2607 allowing an enclosed 6x9‑foot foyer addition at 45 Roosevelt Boulevard; the homeowners said the foyer will prevent tracking dirt into the living room and that larger renovation work (including a garage) will return to the board later.

The Sayreville Zoning Board of Adjustment on March 25 approved Application 2607, allowing the homeowners at 45 Roosevelt Boulevard to add an enclosed foyer (mudroom) to the front of their recently purchased house.
Homeowner Dagmara told the board she and her co‑owner bought the property recently and want the foyer to keep mud, snow and dirt out of the living room in inclement weather. The applicants presented a plan showing a covered, enclosed foyer footprint the parties confirmed in testimony as 6 feet by 9 feet; the application form lists 7 by 9 feet but the applicant clarified the usable footprint cited to the record was 6 by 9.
Board members confirmed the proposed finish will match the existing house. The homeowners said they plan broader renovations — including a second story and a garage — but they will return to the board for those later elements; the foyer variance was the single item before the board at this hearing.
The public made no comments. A motion to approve the foyer variance passed on roll call with all present board members voting in favor. The Chair said the approval will be memorialized at the next meeting and that the applicants need not attend that memorialization hearing.
The board did not record separate conditions in the hearing transcript; memorialization will record formal findings and any conditions.
