Commission approves budget adjustments, surplus property sale and moves to executive session on pending litigation

City Manager Gary Whitehead presented a budget-adjustment package that included three items: an unemployment-insurance budget increase to $34,006.60, acceptance of the $75,000 NMFA planning grant (already recorded in a separate motion) and a $20,000 parks-and-recreation increase to repair skate-park fencing. After discussion, the commission approved the resolution adopting these adjustments.
Staff also proposed selling surplus property (an inflatable dome and related accessories) at a public auction on April 11; mechanical items such as a pad-mounted air conditioner and auxiliary pump will be separated and marketed separately because they have distinct value. The commission approved the surplus sale.
At the close of regular business the commission voted to adjourn the public meeting and enter executive session at 5:12 p.m. to discuss threatened and pending litigation (items listed on the record as Diane Gunning and Ron Fenn) pursuant to the statutory citation read aloud. The public meeting was closed and the commission proceeded to executive session.
