Selectmen reject offer on one town house, refer several properties to planning and zoning

Following executive session, the Board of Selectmen took two actions on town-owned residential properties.
First, the board voted to reject an offer received for 124 Rockwell Street and directed the town manager to reduce the asking price (the transcript records the reduced asking price as $24.09). The motion to reject and to lower the asking price was moved, seconded and approved 6–0.
Second, the board voted to refer four other town properties—32 Hubbard Street; 82–84 Rockwell Street; 17 Birdsall Street; and 132 Florence Street—to the planning and zoning commission for consideration of sale and any necessary planning review. That referral also passed 6–0.
Town Manager Harrington said a copy of the attorney’s draft contract will be shared with the board once prepared and that the manager’s office will follow the board’s direction on pricing and referrals.
Next steps: Manager will confirm updated asking price instructions and forward referral materials to planning and zoning; any resulting sales will follow required planning review and public-notice processes.
