At a special town meeting on March 17, the moderator announced that voters approved the sale of 48 Bridge Street to Charles and Alyssa Nash of 30 Bridge Street, following a paper-ballot vote of 21 yes and 0 no.
The presenter told attendees that the lot is 0.15 acre, had an appraisal value of $35,400 in 2025 and that the town received a purchase offer of $27,000. A committee member moved to sell the property to the Nashes and a second was recorded; the motion was amended to fix the sale price at $27,000 before the ballots were cast. "Make a motion to sell 48 Bridge Street to the Nash's," a committee member said during the meeting.
The presenter said staff, the board of selectmen and the planning and zoning commission had reviewed the parcel and recommended it be brought forward to the special town meeting for a vote. He also explained voting procedures for the meeting, including paper ballots and the location for casting and depositing ballots.
The moderator announced the tally after ballots were counted, declaring the sale approved. The town will now proceed with whatever administrative steps follow a completed sale; the meeting did not record additional conditions, closing dates or escrow instructions.
The meeting then moved on to a separate agenda item about an upcoming referendum on a school roof project.
