Franklin County supervisors approve $154,312.75 amendment to FY2026 budget

The Franklin County Board of Supervisors on March 24 adopted Resolution #2026-24, approving an amendment to the county’s Fiscal Year 2025/2026 budget that increases expenditures by $154,312.75 and adjusts revenues accordingly. The board voted unanimously: Lukensmeyer, McVicker and Chris Vanness voting aye.

The amendment itemizes increases across several program areas. The resolution lists $29,050 for Public Safety and Legal Services (sheriff overtime, vest replacements, LEC heating and cooling), a $175,074.75 line under Physical Health and Social Services (including opioid fund expenditures, a payment to FGH and environmental health grants), $8,199 for conservation repairs and purchases, $7,530 for Treasurer staffing and postage increases, and $60,000 for a courthouse electrical upgrade. The document also reallocates $125,541 in operating transfers out; total net increases in expenditures are stated as $154,312.75.

On the revenue side the amendment records an increase of $20,000 in intergovernmental revenue for environmental health grants, $20,000 in interest income, $8,199 listed as a donation to conservation, and a $125,541 operating transfers in reallocation. The resolution presents the net revenue change as -$77,342.00 in the line items as published in the adopted amendment package.

The Auditor reviewed the amendment at a public hearing opened at 9:21 a.m.; no public comments were received. The board adopted the resolution by roll call vote with all three supervisors voting in favor.
