Commission adopts pool schedule and session pricing for 2026 season

The Truth or Consequences City Commission approved a schedule and fee structure for the municipal pool that begins with a soft opening in mid-April and moves to a full summer schedule in June.

Presenter (Speaker 3) told the commission the pool will have a soft opening April 15 with three days per week service, a Memorial Day full opening, and a June 1 transition to seven days a week for the main season; the fall schedule will reduce service to three days per week and the pool is slated to remain open through October 4.

The commission approved sessions and pricing designed to spread capacity and generate small per-session revenue. "We're going to charge a dollar per session," the Presenter said, adding that an all-day multiple-session pass would cost $5. Individual-session pricing was clarified (single-session adult $1.50; youth/senior $1.25) along with monthly and seasonal passes (off-season monthly $15; main-season monthly $30; seasonal pass good for the full 2026 season with no refunds).

The session model uses two-hour blocks with clearing between sessions; patrons who want additional sessions in a day may purchase a multiple-session pass. The Presenter also set rules for pool parties (two-hour minimum booking, $50 refundable deposit returned after staff inspection) and standard prohibitions (no glass or alcohol).

Staff told commissioners that the schedule depends on lifeguard staffing and that the city plans to rely on a mix of full- and part-time guards; the presenter said hiring and staff coverage will determine whether the pool is open in the week between Memorial Day and June 1. The commission voted to adopt the pool fee resolution as presented.

Next steps: staff will publish session schedules, update registration details and manage pass sales consistent with the adopted rules.
