Ventnor authorizes engineers for Winchester water-main project as part of iBank financing plan

The Ventnor City Commission authorized Remington and Verdict engineers for construction management services related to the Winchester water-main replacement at the Jan. 22 meeting. A commissioner explained the authorization is part of an application to New Jersey’s iBank, which could provide principal forgiveness on a loan to fund the work. Staff said the selected firm was the design engineer and that naming them as construction manager completes that portion of the iBank application.
Council members said the project is phase 1 of a multi-phase effort to upgrade undersized mains and address water and stormwater improvements across the city. The action authorizes the firm to manage the construction contract; the iBank application remains subject to review and award.
Next steps: staff will complete the iBank application package and proceed with design and bidding as funding permits.
