The Special Recreation Commission on March 10 approved corrected nonresident rates for annual track and open‑gym memberships after staff identified an error in the program guide.
Staff liaison Sue Earl explained that the annual track‑only nonresident membership for youth and seniors should be $60 rather than an $80 value that appeared in the guide, and the youth annual membership that includes open gym, elevated track and locker rooms should be $80 rather than $60. Commissioners discussed the change briefly and agreed it was a correction to the materials rather than a new policy.
A motion to recommend the corrected rates to the board was made, seconded and approved by roll call. The commission will forward these recommendations to the board for formal adoption and placement in the summer brochure.
Commissioner Tammy Henderson thanked staff for rechecking the figures; trustee liaison Carrie Alfano noted the importance of including nearby unincorporated Villa Park families in future registration outreach.
