Airport director reports phase 5 concrete pours underway, fence near completion and terminal design finalized

Airport Director Caden Young told the Regional Airport Board that the airport construction project is entering an intensive concrete-pouring stage and that other projects — including a fence and terminal planning — are moving toward completion.
"Starting tomorrow at around 2 to 3 AM, contract crews are going to arrive out here and begin pouring concrete," Young said. He said crews will work through the day, finishing around 6 PM, and that phase 5 is the longest phase of the multi-phase project. Young said the project was about two weeks into phase 5 and that phase 5 is expected to run roughly 24 weeks.
Young said the fence project will wrap up in about two days; remaining work includes grading and the installation of signs designating airport property. He also said the final floor plan for the terminal has been completed and thanked the terminal planning committee and the Park Hill design team for their work.
Young reported staff and a colleague attended the Oklahoma Airport Operators Association conference, where they heard from the FAA and the state aviation agency. He said other airports had noticed the airports new logo and branding and that the feedback had been positive. Young told the board staff had already sent 2026 ground-lease invoices and would incorporate the CPI adjustments approved at the meeting before finalizing billing.
The board asked follow-up questions about conference attendance and branding; Young responded with attendance estimates (about 40'45 airports) and said FAA and state officials were present. The board did not take additional action on the report beyond noting the updates.
