A member of EAA Chapter 1326 told the board the chapter received IRS nonprofit recognition and plans to expand youth and training programs; she also asked members to check airport mailbox slots for two missing bank statements.
During the citizen-comment portion of the Jan. 22 meeting, Lee Kelly identified herself as treasurer of EAA Chapter 1326 and announced that the group has received notification of 501(c)(3) nonprofit status from the IRS. Kelly said the chapter will ramp up fundraising, scholarships and workshops and will be able to accept donations, including an aircraft under construction.
Kelly also asked airport users to check their mailbox slots for two bank statements addressed to the chapter that did not arrive in the correct recipient slot and to return them if found. She said the nonprofit notice arrived in the mailbox recently and thanked staff for assistance.
