Gainesville, Ga. — The Hall County Board of Tax Assessors on Jan. 7 elected Jennifer Pettitt as chair, Casey Ryals as vice-chair and appointed Interim Chief Appraiser John Smith as secretary, and approved several administrative and policy items affecting property assessments and public comment.
The Board, meeting at the Hall County Government Center, began with elections carried out under Georgia law (GA. 48-5-298[a]). The motions to elect Pettitt as chairman, Ryals as vice-chair and to appoint John Smith as secretary passed unanimously, 5-0.
A brief executive session followed from 5:03 p.m. to 5:43 p.m. for discussion of pending or potential litigation and personnel matters; the Board reconvened without public action reported on those…
