The Hall County Board of Tax Assessors approved a series of routine administrative items at its Nov. 12 meeting, including revised property notices, conservation-use covenants and the board’s 2026 meeting schedule.
Ms. Griffin told the board that the first round of the Board of Equalization hearings was scheduled for the second week of December and presented lists of 30-day and 45-day revised notices and CHO no-change notices. The board approved the 30-day and 45-day revised notices and the CHO no-change notices by unanimous votes.
Ms. Rainey presented lists of personal property and motor vehicle notices; the board approved 45-day and 30-day personal property notices and 30-day motor vehicle notices with recorded 5-0 votes.
Ms. Melendez presented a new conservation covenant application (#12066 000007) and a renewal for #11021 000010; both were approved unanimously. Janene Smith presented a draft 2026 Board of Assessors meeting schedule, which the board approved on a motion by Jennifer Pettitt, seconded by Ann Hood.
On homestead audits, Janene Smith presented a list of duplicate homesteads. The board initially voted to approve the list, withdrew that motion, then approved the first seven items and tabled the remainder pending further research.
Chief Appraiser Steve Watson told the board that staff did not feel Tyler Technologies was a good fit for the office at this time; after discussion the board agreed not to pursue Tyler Technologies now. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn at 6:17 p.m.
