Hall County assessors approve CUVA breach notices, refund for double-taxed boat and homestead updates

Ms. Rainey presented a refund request for Personal Property account #335923 after county staff found the taxpayer had been double taxed on a boat for multiple years; the board voted 3-0 to forward the refund recommendation to the Board of Commissioners. Interim Chief Appraiser John Smith presented lists of new homesteads and homesteads to be removed for 2026; both lists were approved by a 3-0 vote.
The board also approved an exempt application for account #15046 000009 representing a building in use as a church (motion moved by Eric Jackson, seconded by AJ Zurzolo; vote 3-0). The board voted to extend the county's contract with Appraisal Services (Marion Meeks) after Mr. Smith presented an amendment to extend the appraisal services contract.
Mr. Smith presented the draft 2025 tax digest 45-day notices and the board approved that list 3-0. All motions recorded in the minutes were moved by Eric Jackson and seconded by AJ Zurzolo and carried by unanimous recorded tallies of 3-0.
