He said Motts Group has performed quality work for the village and that limited contractor availability and Motts’ experience justified waiving formal bidding.
Trustees first voted to waive the formal bidding process by voice vote, then approved the proposal by roll-call vote. The board recorded the motions and the contract award in the meeting minutes.
The work is intended to increase flexibility for youth and adult leagues and to accommodate growing usage; the proposal does not appear to change the current season schedule. The village did not provide a detailed project timeline during the public meeting; staff follow-up is expected to confirm schedule and completion dates.
